Regulations

  • Permitting: All races part of the Memorial Weekend Omnium will be held individually under separate USA Cycling event permits, and are subject to the governing rules in the USAC Rule book. Licensed USAC officials will be responsible for all start/finishes, rulings, and determining each individual events results.   • Licensing: All race participants must have a valid USA Cycling racing license in good standing and will be required to race in the Category listed on that license. One-day licenses and annual USAC licenses will be available for purchase daily at the Memorial Weekend Omnium registration tables, but in the interest of saving time, you are encouraged to please purchase your license prior to the event. All license purchase information and rates can be found at www.usacycling.org. USAC rules will govern all races.
  • Anti-Doping: All races are conducted under USA Cyling and USADA anti-doping regulations.
  • Waivers: All athletes must have the waivers completely filled out and signed prior to picking up race numbers.
  • Refunds / Transfer Policy:
    • No credits or refunds will be given for rain or weather conditions. Race Rain or Shine!
    • No refunds or credits due to rider accident or mishap
    • No transfer of registration fees to other teammates or friends
    • You may transfer your rider registration fee to another race day but no refunds.
    • No refunds or credits will be granted to a rider that misses or shows up late for a race.
  • Race Numbers: New race numbers are issued, and new waiver must be filled out at each venue.
  • Leaders Jersey: Points leaders jersey will be provided a Leader’s Jersey for the day. Pick-up and return is required each day. Overall winners will get to keep the Leader’s Jersey on Monday.
  • No Littering / Public urinating: Please do not litter/ urinate on/ near the course or surrounding areas. Please leave the course and surrounding areas as you found them. Either of these may be grounds for disqualification.
  • Bicycles: Road bicycles must be used for all three stages. No fixed or track bikes are allowed.
  • Helmets: Helmets must be worn at all times while on the bicycles, not complying may be grounds for disqualification.
  • Ominium: Riders may participate in as few or as many venues within their registered category. Every race counts and will be scored. Riders will have an opportunity to earn points at each of the qualified venues and their combined score will determine their omnium total points and final position in the omnium by registered category. If two or more individual riders are awarded the same number of omnium points, the tie-breaker will be the higher place on the last day.
  • Award Ceremonies: As per USAC regulations, 15 minutes after the race results are posted and the protest period has ended, the organizer will hold award ceremonies. Top three in each category or as listed will be awarded. Per rule #8A5(k), participants not attending the award ceremonies without a valid reason explained to the referees and promoter will forfeit their prizes ( no mailing of checks or medals). You may not have anyone else be awarded the prize without being on the podium.
